Recent projects

I've been loving cross stitch lately. I have a couple of protects planned for the future. I love the patterns from Satsuma Street on etsy.

A Place for Everything

I used a fat needle and yarn to stitch a pattern into the pegboard, and then hung my jewlery in hooks that hang from the peg board. Simple, easy. This kind of project is cheap and takes less than a day.

Ohhhh Dream Weaver

So I started this weaving project in October, and I'm almost done with it. I'll be covering a bench with the fabric, and then never sit on it ever ever again. It's a German birds eye pattern, and I don't think I could love a human child more than this fabric.

Back to Blogging

So I'm going to start posting from my phone. I've been working on my coral reef sculpture more lately. I want to finish it and mount it above my mantle. I have several finished projects and ongoing projects, so I'll try to post daily.

Dodecagons

I have been working on a time intensive afghan project since this last July.  In the past two weeks, I have made some serious headway. I crocheted over 350 hexagons, and have been joining those together to create a more unique geometric shape. It creates such a beautiful pattern when it's laid out. I'm already in love with this one.

I have completed a large portion of the shapes, but still have a ways to go. There are three more colors to sew into the larger shapes. If you are wondering, here is the entire color palette.

This color palette is a little uncharacteristic for me, but I love love love it. I am still debating weather to keep this piece as a blanket, or to use it as a wall hanging. The walls of my new condo are a bit bare. Everything is very neutral in my living room right now, so I think this would bring in some much needed color.

Whenever I work on these time consuming projects, I tend to break them up by completing smaller ones. Just this morning, I finished up a little crochet coral reef pod and hung it on my bedroom wall. I made a few of these years ago when I first discovered hyperbolic crochet. I am so glad to have made a new one, and I just started another with a different motif and beautiful yarn my mom gave me. I will post pictures of that soon.
Until next time!

Introduction

Hi there! I just thought I would give a quick introduction before I start my regular posting. I will be using this blog to document ongoing crochet projects and ideas. I'll be posting pictures of crochet, my manicures, my home, and anything else that inspires me. I'm sure I will be writing to an audience of one for now, but that's just fine.
